I'll start by saying don't judge a book by its cover and I only say that because the outside is very unassuming. The inside of this establishment was clean and roomy. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing to enjoy a meal. The young lady that greeted us and took us to a table was very friendly and our server Tiffany was awesome, informative and attentive. We found the prices to be very reasonable and the food was amazing. We had a pizza and hobo fries along with a couple beers and our stomachs were definitely full and very satisfied. The pizza was great and the pulled pork with BBQ sauce on the hobo fries was really tasty with a little kick, also the beer was nice and cold. A definite hidden gem which we're glad we stopped at after our motorcycle ride. If your passing through Lilly, PA or just in the area stop in I don't think y'all would be disappointed. We've already made plans to go again!

The Boxcar is one of the best hidden gems of Cambria County! The atmosphere, food, drinks, and staff are top notch! The owners are so dedicated to their business, and they make the vast majority of their sauces and offerings from scratch. They are also super reasonable with their pricing, and the food is always high quality. I've never had a bad experience at this restaurant, and I don't think you will either. Having a place like this so close to home is a blessing. It's especially awesome to see that your money is going to a hard-working family who is so dedicated to their craft. I 100% recommend this place, just don't crowd it too much that we can't get a seat at the bar haha!
Highly recommend! The smash burgers are huge and absolutely delicious. The restaurant is cozy, nicely decorated, and very clean. We would definitely return if we are in the area again.
If you want the best salads around come to The Box Car! They are amazing!
Great place to eat! We went here with our 3 kids & they all loved it. We order pizza, wings and sandwiches & everything was great. The waitress was very friendly. The food came out fast too. They also had desserts, which were amazing! I’m planning to go back soon, it’s a must try!
What a great place to have lunch. The restaurant is right next to the main lines and has lots of trains. Sadly you can't see them from inside, but you can hear them rumble by. There is a small outdoor patio for nice weather. Tiffany was super friendly and checked on me several times. The salad was very fresh and had several items on top of it. The Hobo Burger is a little spicy and well worth ordering. Their fries were fresh cuts and were spot on. The restaurant is very clean and the bathroom looked freshly remodeled. The inside is train themed and has lots of great pictures everywhere. The menu is very large and it was really hard to pick one thing. I am excited to go back and try something different next time.
Specializes in Burgers but seems like everything is good there. Family run business, clean, attentive. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The establishment also has a bar. Will visit again. Overall, Grade A
